Sidney Marquardt, FC Wisconsin Alum and All-American, Returns as Director of Goalkeeping
FC Wisconsin is thrilled to announce the hiring of one of its own, Sidney Marquardt. A former FC Wisconsin player, ECNL standout, and collegiate All-American, Sid will head up and continue to elevate the club's prestigious goalkeeping program.
“We couldn’t be more excited with this hire! After numerous inquiries about the position, it was so clear to us that with his knowledge, motivation, dedication, and desire to give back to the club, Sid was the right person for the job. He was an intense, smart, and eager to learn player," shared Co-Director of Coaching, Billy Solberg.

- Two-time CCIW Regular Season Champion
- Two-time CCIW Tournament Champion
- Three NCAA Tournament appearances
- NCAA Dlll Men’s Soccer All-American
- Two-time All-Region Vlll Team player
- Two-time First Team All-Conference player
- 2022 CCIW Defensive Player of the Year
- NCC school record holder for career shutouts
- COSIDA Academic All-Region award winner
- 2021 national shutouts record holder
- 2021 national record holder for team goals against
- ECNL Regular Season Champion
- Three ECNL Regional appearances
“We remember Sid as the full package in goal. He was superb with his feet, which allowed us to play out the back. He was also a great shot stopper, communicator, and leader. Sid would come up with that game winning save out of nowhere. We can't wait for him to share his knowledge with our keepers, help shape them, and improve their overall game. No detail will go untouched,” added Co-Director of Coaching, Ben Shepherd.
Sid reiterated his excitement, having this to say about returning to the FC Wisconsin Family: “I am thrilled to come back to FC Wisconsin and help young players learn everything and more of what the club has taught me. FC Wisconsin has helped me reach my goals and aspirations beyond the club level. FC Wisconsin was my first choice for coaching because I want to help develop the next generations of goalkeepers to reach their goals in an environment with supportive coaches and teammates.”
