Sean Reti Added As U11/U12 Youth Director

FC Wisconsin is thrilled to announce its newest coach to the FC Family. Sean Reti joins FC Wisconsin from Elmbrook United and will immediately oversee our U11 and U12 program and assist with the Jr Academy. Reti takes over from TC Ward, who due to work commitments has had to step away from coaching for the foreseeable future.
“We knew we had to hire someone to continue to build on what TC started; someone with a similar philosophy and positive coaching style. Sean was the first person that came to mind with his energy, record of developing players, encouraging creativity and his positive coaching. Kids love to play for him. Kids love to show up and are excited to participate in his training sessions. We couldn’t be more excited for Sean to join the FC Family, and we are beyond confident in the role and positivity he will bring to this program,” said Co-Director of Coaching Billy Solberg.
Reti is well known and held in high regard within the Wisconsin coaching community, having been a standout player and a part of the state's soccer scene for quite some time. Not many people are able to say they played high school, college, and professional soccer all in the same city like Sean did. He was the captain of the Brookfield East boys soccer team that won the state title in 1997. He broke several school and state records, and was named the Wisconsin Soccer Player of the Year in his senior campaign. Sean then transitioned to Marquette University's men’s soccer team where he earned First Team All-Conference and All-Region Honors all four years, and even earned a First Team All-American nod his senior year. Reti continued his career by playing for several professional soccer teams within the U.S.
Sean is very passionate about the game of soccer and loves the opportunity to coach and impact youth players in the game he loves. He has coached at a variety of levels, with well over 20 years of coaching experience. Reti started his coaching career with the Rockford Raptors, where he would become the Director of Youth Development. He was most recently with Elmbrook United for more than 10 years, where he helped play a major role in developing and improving their youth program.
“The hiring of Sean to oversee our U11 and U12 program is a huge coup for the club. Over many years, Sean has shown himself to be a great developer of young players within these age groups. His positivity, enthusiasm, and drive to help young players improve and enjoy the game will be a massive asset to the club. We could not have found a better person who fits with the ethos of our club. We are excited to see the impact that he will have on our young players and welcome him to the FC Family,” added Co-Director Ben Shepherd.
Reti brings a wealth of knowledge and knows how to design and deliver sessions to improve players. His coaching style will encourage creativity, fun, and love of the game. These attributes are key to developing young players within these age groups, and his influence and impact on the club will be extremely beneficial in the long-term development of our players.
“I am very excited to take my knowledge, experience, and expertise and incorporate these things into the FC Wisconsin coaching model. The player development model has been on my mind a lot ever since I earned my national licenses, and it made me realize I would like to be much more involved in the development side of an elite club. When the opportunity became available to be the youth director of the U11/12 boys at FC Wisconsin, it was a no brainer. The combination is a perfect fit, and I am very excited to see what we will be able to accomplish together,” shared Reti.
“FC Wisconsin isn’t only known as one of the top clubs in the state, it is recognized nationally as one of the preeminent clubs in player development. From outside looking in, I always knew there was something different at FC. When I spoke with Ben and Billy, it became clearer as to what that was. From top to bottom, the organization is designed around a consistent, clear, player development pathway unrivaled in the state,” noted Reti.
Sean has two younger sons that he has coached over the last few years at Elmbrook United, and they will be making the transition to FC Wisconsin as well. Sean lives in Brookfield with his wife Brianna and three sons, Chase, Beckam, and Cruz.
Welcome Coach Sean and the Reti family!
