FC Wisconsin Partners with Ethic Sports Performance

FC Wisconsin is excited to announce a new partnership with Ethic Sports Performance (ESP). Heading into the 2024-2025 season, FC Wisconsin’s U16, U17, and U18 ECNL teams will now train once per week during the winter months (November through March over a 14 week training period) with the Ethic Sports Performance coaches.

Led by Coach Matt Gifford the Ethic Sports Performance training gym is based out of the new state-of-the-art Orthopedic Associates of Wisconsin Indoor Sports Complex in New Berlin. Ethic Sports Performance focuses on elite athletes, learning cutting edge techniques, while developing rapport in a disciplined, fun, and intimate setting with their renowned staff. High-end athletes separate themselves during the off-season by utilizing ESP's facility to upgrade peak performance metrics and game speed to improve overall performance.

This strategic partnership will provide FC Wisconsin players with another important training aspect which is key to developing them as high-end athletes that can succeed at the next level. The Ethic Sports Performance staff has experience in all areas of developing the overall athlete to excel in their chosen sport. Numerous professional athletes and high-level collegiate players have been a part of the ESP training program. They combine their sports science expertise, athlete-centered care, best available research, and the latest technology to help athletes’ physical development meet the demands of the modern game.

“As a club we are always striving to provide more opportunities and utilize more resources to continue to aid our players overall development. The importance of sports science and physical training with regard to elite performance is essential, along with overall general good health and wellness. The modern game is now all about transitions and high intensity play. The athleticism needed to be successful at a high level is becoming greater and greater. We are thrilled that we are now able to integrate this aspect of training into our winter program, when we have more time to focus on this aspect of player development. Having the expertise of Coach Gifford and the Ethic Sports Performance staff, represents a fantastic opportunity for our players to maximize every aspect of their development as a player and athlete,” said Co-Director of Coaching Ben Shepherd.

This partnership with Ethic Sports Performance will begin during the 2024-2025 season. The 14-week training program will run through the winter months from November through March as part of FC Wisconsin's training program one night per week. There will be no additional cost to players or families. This will be part of the club’s yearly training fees. Moving forward, the aim for the 2025-2026 season is to integrate ESP's training program into the ECNL Regional League training program.

“Ethic Sports Performance is thrilled to collaborate with an elite organization in FC Wisconsin. With a shared commitment to excellence, ESP will create an opportunity for FC WIsconsin athletes to separate from their competition through our speed-based model. The ESP training program will help to enhance the continued commitment to development that the club provides its players. We look forward to further strengthening the FC Wisconsin culture physically and mentally, while educating athletes on the intricacies of health and performance on and off the field,” stated Coach Matt Gifford.
