For immediate release:

Once again, FC Wisconsin has players selected to attend the elite id2 training camp.  This time Jack Corbett and Santi Davila were selected for the Connecticut based camp

US Club Soccer’s id2 National Identification and Development Program provides an opportunity for the country’s top youth soccer players to be identified and developed in an elite training camp with top players from throughout the country, while also being scouted  for possible inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs.

The id2 Program is open to all players regardless of U.S. Soccer affiliation or lack thereof.

Both Corbett and Davila play on FC Wisconsin’s U14 NPL team.  They are the only players from the state of Wisconsin selected for the elite camp.  For Davila, this is his second straight invite to camp and for Corbett his first.  “This is such a great honor for these boys and a tribute to all their hard work.  Their work ethic and intensity at training is always of the highest level.  They both have come a long way in their development, which is a huge credit to their focus, their training, their coachability and lastly to all the staff that have helped them through this developmental process. This opportunity represents another stepping-stone in their development and is a testament to their continued dedication to improve ” said Co-DOC Ben Shepherd.

For the players and families this camp is free of charge with meals, lodging, coaching, and training gear provided for by US Club Soccer.

Corbett had this to say on his selection: “I am honored by the invitation to this exciting camp! Thank-you to all the FCW coaches and my teammates  - you push us all every day to work hard and keep improving.  I will do my best to represent the club well and make you proud.”

The camp is held September 29th thru October 2nd at the TD Oakwood Soccer Park in Portland Connecticut.

“We pride our club on true player development.  We preach long term development, training the right way, training on the edge of our comfort zone, learning from our mistakes and pushing players to reach their highest potential.  This is just as much a tribute to both these players, as it is their teammates and coaches.  We, coaches and players, will make sure we have both Santi and Jack ready to have a good showing for all the US National Team Scouts.  We all will keep working and we all know Santi and Jack will represent the FC Family extremely well,” said Co-Doc Billy Solberg.

“The opportunity of being invited to attend another id2 training camp is another big step in my player development, with the ultimate goal of playing at the highest level of soccer someday. This makes me want to work even harder to achieve my goals. I couldn't have been recognized without all the great coaching staff at FC WI and my teammates” said Davila.

Good luck boys!
