Alums Continue To Make Collegiate Impact

FC Wisconsin Alums Continuing to Make Big Impact Throughout the College Season

 

FC Wisconsin continues to have more college alums than any other club in the state of Wisconsin. With more than 80 alums currently playing college soccer across the US at every level, FC Wisconsin players are making a big imprint when they move to the next stage of their careers.

With the college season across all divisions now in full swing, FC Wisconsin alumni are playing major roles in their team’s successes and making their mark in Division I, II, III and NAIA competition across the country.

 

NCAA Division I:

  • Davidson College: After a tough start to the season, Davidson has now won two out of the last four games. Sophomore Vincent Bennage has continued his good form his freshman year, starting all eight games and has two goals and one assist on the season. The former ECNL All-American and Midwest Conference Player of the Year helped lead the team to a big 5-0 win over Radford University, scoring and assisting in the game. Fellow FC alum and freshman Denis Krioutchenkov also scored in the win over Radford and leads the team in goals and points with three goals on the season.

  • University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee: It’s been a tough start for the Panthers, sitting 1-5-2 on the season. The Panthers lost a tough one against local rival Marquette University, which saw Nick Chiappa (Jr) and Colin Alba (So) in action, while Quinn Rechner missed out due to injury. Rechner (Jr) has started seven games so far this year, while Chiappa has started five games and sophomore Colin Alba has also seen action from the bench in four games.

  • Colgate University: The Raiders have had a strong start to the season with a 4-1-1 record. Sophomore Daniel Brennecke played 90 minutes and helped the Raiders to their first Patriot League win over Boston University. Brennecke, coming off an injury last year, has seen action in all six games this season, playing 90 minutes in the last three games.

  • St. Bonaventure University: The Bonnies have had a tough start to the season sitting 2-4-1. Freshman Will Phillips and Will O’Connor both got to see action in all their pre-season games.

  • DePaul University: The Blue Demons have had a solid start to the season with a 3-1-3 record. They recorded a big 3-2 win over local rival UIC. Sophomore Santi Davila, who coming off an excellent spring season, saw action in both pre-season scrimmages.

 

NCAA Division II:

 

NCAA Division III:

  • University of Wisconsin Whitewater: The Warhawks, with the help of five FC alumni, have had a solid start to the season sitting 3-3. Freshman Zeke Healey and sophomore Payton Nicholls both scored their first collegiate goals in the recent win over Monmouth. Will Hamilton (Sr) has started in all six games, Aiden Glancey (Fr) has seen action in four games, and Cam Maderski (Jr) has made two appearances on the season.

  • St. Norbert College: The Green Knights are currently 2-3-3 with five FC alums currently contributing to their season. Stjepan Peharda (Fr) has seen action in eight games and has two goals to his name. Peharda scored his first collegiate goal in the 1-1 tie with Aurora University.  Fellow freshmen Dom Lagona and Jack Corbett have seen action in eight games. Payton Schliz (Fr) has made five appearances and senior Cole Goff has seen action in seven games.

  • Concordia University Wisconsin: The Falcons have made an unbeaten start to the season with a 4-0-1 record. FC North alum Nick Hummel (Sr), coming off an outstanding 2021 season, has had another strong start to the season with two goals and two assists to his name and sits second in points for the team. Hummel got the game winner in the recent 5-3 win over Carroll University. Senior goalkeeper Mattison Wick has played in two games on the season.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran College: The Warriors have had an excellent start to the season with a 5-1 record. Freshman center back Jack Leffel has started all six games and was named Man of the Match versus Randolph-Macon. Fellow freshman Brock Vaughan has made four appearances on the season, and junior Timmy Gillingham has seen action in five games.

  • Wartburg College: The Knights are having another solid season, posting a current record of 3-1-3. Senior Parker Schimmers has started three games so far during the season.

  • Carroll University: The Pioneers currently stand at 4-3, winning their last three games. Junior Sam Dorchester has seen action in all seven games starting in the 3-1 win over the University of Dubuque. The game also saw fellow FC alum Aaron Weiss in action for Dubuque.

  • Macalester College: Sophomore midfielder Nathan Corbett has helped the Scots to a solid 2-2-3 start on the year. Corbett has seen action in six games on the season.

  • Ripon College: It’s been a tough start to the season for the Red Hawks, who sit 1-5-1. Junior Eli Dietzel, coming off an excellent sophomore year, leads the team with two goals and three assists for seven points on the year. Fellow junior and FC North alum Timothy Geocaris also has two goals to his name. Both Dietzel and Geocaris scored in the win over Eureka College.

  • North Central College: The #4 ranked Cardinals are having another excellent season, standing at 6-0-2. Junior goalkeeper and 2021 All-American Sid Marquardt is having another stellar season, recently being named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week. Marquardt has started seven games and has a 0.47 GAA on the season.

  • Washington University – St. Louis: The Bears currently have a 2-2 record. Sophomore Ezra Joseph, who has been battling injury, has seen action in two games.

  • Emory College: The Eagles have started the season with a 1-3-4 record. Senior Madison Conduah has seen action in seven games starting one on the season.

  • Elmhurst College: The Bluejays have had a solid 3-3-1 start to the season. Senior goalkeeper Noah Reed has started all seven games this season, making 47 saves with a 1.43 GAA.

  • University of Dubuque: Junior Aaron Weiss has helped Dubuque to a 4-3-1 record. Weiss has seen action in five games and most recently played a part in the win over Elmhurst College. Fellow FC alum and freshman goalkeeper Micah Falk made his collegiate debut in the win over Monmouth.

  • University of Wisconsin  Eau Claire: Sophomore Sam Hummel has helped Eau Claire to an excellent 10-0 start to the season. Hummel has seen action in all 10 games on the season.

  • Williams College: The Ephs are having solid season, sitting at 2-0-3. Junior Jonathon Carl, coming off an injury in pre-season, has seen action in two games so far this season.

  • St. Mary’s University: The Cardinals have had a solid season so far with a record of 3-3-2. Sophomore Augie Deavers has seen action in two games this season.

  • Hamline College: The Pipers have struggled to a 2-5 record. However, junior Cole Brennan has had a solid start to the season starting all seven games scoring in the opening day loss to Eau Claire.

  • John Carroll College: The Blue Streaks are coming off an excellent 2021 season, reaching the NCAA National Tournament. They currently sit at 3-2-1 with senior defender and captain Timmy Flannery seeing action in one game this season.

  • North Park University: The Vikings ranked #4 in the Nation have made an unbeaten start with a 7-0 record. Sophomore goalkeeper David Neitzke-Pizarro has made one appearance on the season.

  • Northland College: Freshman Ryan DeBruin has helped the Jacks go unbeaten in their last three games, who now sit at 1-4-2. DeBruin has seen action in three games so far this season.

 

NAIA:

  • Cardinal Stritch: After a tough start to the season, FC Wisconsin Coach Jamie Bladen has now seen the Wolves win their last three games with a record of 5-3, and 3-0 in the Chicagoland Conference. Sophomore Alishan Sharipov has seen action in six games.

  • Viterbo University: The V-Hawks have had a perfect 9-0 start on the season. Coming off an excellent freshman campaign Dakota Hatzenbeller (So) has already notched three goals and one assist for seven points on the year. Hatzenballer got the game winner in the 2-0 win over Central College.

 

NJCAA:

  • Iowa Western Community College: The Reivers are in the midst of an undefeated season standing at 10-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Haakon Utesch has started three games, only conceding one goal for a 0.33 GAA.

  • Bryant & Stratton Community College: It’s been a tough start to the season for the Bobcats who sit 1-7 on the year. Freshman Edward Zozulya has seen action in four games and Jakob Hilger (So) coming off an injury has seen action in two games, scoring one goal.
