Former FC Wisconsin Nationals Players Receive Accolades and See Success in NCAA Division I National Tournament

Germantown, WI, November 26, 2013,The 2013 College Season has been quite a year for Former FC Wisconsin National’s alumni, with 8 players being rostered to programs who have competed in the NCAA Division I National Tournament, as well as 6 players receiving Conference Accolades!!

Former FC Wisconsin Nationals players Patrick Hodan and Kelmend Islami will have little time to relax and enjoy the Thanksgiving Break this year, as this Sunday they will compete in the ‘Sweet Sixteen’ of the NCAA Division I National Tournament.

Hodan, who is second on points for Notre Dame’s ‘Fighting Irish’, received 1st Team Academic All-District, and ACC 2nd Team All-Conference Honors for his season efforts. Notre Dame who has a season’s record of 13-1-6 will host fellow ACC rival Wake Forest University this coming Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals.

Islami, who is joint 2nd for Marquette in assists this season, will be preparing to head to the East Coast to face ACC Finalist Virginia University in another ‘Sweet Sixteen’ match-up. Islami helped Marquette win their first ever NCAA match last Sunday defeating Akron University, and has played a major role in helping Marquette share the Big East regular season title, as well as winning the Big East Conference Title.

Other notable achievements and accolades earned by FC Wisconsin National’s former players.

Patrick Hodan (Notre Dame) ACC 2nd Team All-Conference. 1st Team Academic All-District. Second on Team in points with 7 goals and 5 assists.

Luke Goodnetter (UWM) - Horizon League 2nd Team All-Conference. Played a major role in helping UWM win the Horizon League Conference Tournament , and advance to the NCAA National Tournament, losing in the first round to UW-Madison.

Sam Krenzien (UW-Green Bay) Horizon League 2nd Team All-Conference.  Krenzien led Green Bay in scoring with 11 goals and 26 points, and finished 2nd in the Horizon League for goals scored.

Audi Jepson (UW-Green Bay)Horizon League All-Freshman Team. Jepson appeared in 16 of 17 matches as a freshman scoring one goal and tallying two assists.

Logan Andryk (MSOE)NACC Offensive Player of the Year. NACC 1st Team All-Conference. Andryk coming off an All-American season last year, has scored 16 goals and added 9 assists for the season. He led the Conference in scoring and points.

Jacob Pope (UW-Concordia) NACC Defensive Player of the Year. NACC 1st Team All-Conference. For the third year running Pope has been awarded 1st Team All-conference Honors.

FC Wisconsin continues to lead the State in developing and placing players within top College programs at every level across the country. The Club would like to congratulate all of our former players on the successes that they have achieved this season!!
