FC Wisconsin U15 and U16 NPL Teams Make Regional Playoffs

Germantown, WI June 8, 2015, –  The FC Wisconsin Nationals U15 and U16 NPL teams have both had a great 2014-2015 season which was capped off this past weekend by winning their remaining NPL games to earn a berth at this weekends National Premier League Regional Playoffs in Waukegan IL.

The U15 NPL team continued its momentum after winning the Wisconsin State Championship last weekend at the U16 age group.  This past weekend they secured their NPL Regional spot, by dominating and defeating the Columbus Crew 4-0.

The U16 NPL team who recently won the Novi Jaguar College Invitational defeated the Columbus Crew 2-1, which also guaranteed them a place at this weekend’s Regional Playoffs.

This marks the first time that the club has sent two teams to the NPL Playoffs since joining the League in 2011.

“We are so happy for the club and both these age groups.  So much hard work, and commitment by all the players and coaches is really paying off for our club as a whole in terms of player development.  This marks the second year for the majority of these players under our collaborative coaching model and true player development curriculum.  This has been so fun to be a part of, seeing the club grow, teams grow and players develop so much faster given the environment and multiple coaches giving feedback” said Co-DOC Ben Shepherd.
