FC Wisconsin Club Update

Dear FC Players and Parents,

As you are now all aware, Governor Evers has extended the Safer at Home order from April 24 to May 26 ... or until a superseding order is issued. This means that we are unable to resume training until this order is lifted.

We know that some will agree/understand the Governor's order, some will strenuously disagree, and others will be left completely frustrated and dejected that our daily lives are still severely prohibited. Regardless of your feelings, it is a situation that we cannot change and can only adhere to in the best interests of everyone's safety.

We can however, continue to work together to make sure your son, our players, and the entire FC Family feel supported, cared for, and connected with one another on all fronts. As a club, we are going to continue working as hard as we can to bridge the gap between now and when our players are able to return to the field.

Like everything else related to this public health crisis, we will remain flexible, work to maintain player and parent engagement, provide additional opportunities for learning and development, and most importantly ensure our players feel valued and cared for during this difficult time. These are unprecedented times, but we remain committed to providing development opportunities for our members and an escape from the real-world realities with the long-term goal of helping our players perform once we do return to the field.

Below is some important information regarding what we know about the status of current leagues and tournaments. Regardless of what happens with the leagues our teams participate in, as a club our plan is to train the month of June and most of July (when deemed safe to do so) to help make up for lost training time.

Important Current Information Regarding Leagues:

Note:  These are all subject to change based upon government orders.

ECNL - The ECNL Playoffs and National Championships have been canceled. The ECNL has canceled the postseason in an attempt to be able to still fulfill the league games in June and July so we are able to have some type of season. The ECNL Pennsylvania Showcase for the U15, U16, and U17 ECNL teams from May 23-25 has also now been canceled.

Midwest Conference (MWC/MRL) - The MWC has made the decision to cancel its season. However, WYSA have released the following statement, "We will be moving forward with organizing and planning a league/playing opportunity for impacted teams. Our intention is to have all MWC registered teams participate against each other by age group and gender. With 6-10 registered teams at each age/gender formalizing a schedule and playing opportunities is very realistic. We are working off a possible start date of June 1 and season end of July 12, more details regarding the offering will be available in the following weeks (registration, format, etc.)."

Wisconsin State Leagues - These leagues are still planned to take place at this time. WYSA has stated that they are working off a possible start date of June 1 with the season ending by July 12.

Wisconsin State Cup and Presidents Cup - WYSA are still looking into the possibility of hosting a State Cup and Presidents Cup in a modified format at a later date. A final decision will be made on this around May 1. US Youth Soccer has already canceled Regionals and Nationals in the hope that states can still administer their own State Cup in either June or July.

Tryouts:

Currently tryouts are as follows:

  • U11-U14's - The week of June 15-19 with offers on Friday, June 19 at 12 p.m.
  • U15-U19's - The week of June 27-July 1 with offers on Wednesday, July 1 at 8 p.m.

These dates are now being reviewed by WYSA and may change. As a club, we have not determined our days or times yet and will wait until these dates are confirmed by WYSA. As soon as these dates are confirmed, we will release our tryout dates to all our families.

Again, we send our heartfelt wishes and good thoughts to you, your family, your friends, and all of the FC Wisconsin Family community.

As a club and staff, we cannot stress how much we are missing working with our players and engaging with our FC Family on the pitch. This is a difficult time for everyone involved, and as always we are here to help as much as we can.

Whether a player or parent, please don't hesitate to reach out if there is something that we can help you with.

We hope to see you all soon!

Ben and Billy
