FC Wisconsin Alums Continue to Make College Impact

9.8.15:  FC Wisconsin continues to have more College Alums than any other Club in the State of Wisconsin. As more programs started their college seasons, more club alums made their mark in Division I, II, III and NAIA competition across the country.

9.8.15:  FC Wisconsin continues to have more College Alums than any other Club in the State of Wisconsin. As more programs started their college seasons, more club alums made their mark in Division I, II, III and NAIA competition across the country.

 

  • Marquette retained the Milwaukee Cup last Thursday evening in a hard fought 1-1 tie with Milwaukee. The game was played in front of a record breaking 4,032 crowd at Englemann Stadium. There were four FC Wisconsin Alums on show in the cross-town derby with Alex McBride and Kelmend Islami both starting for Marquette and Nick Moon starting andReid Stevenson playing minutes from the bench for Milwaukee.

 

  • Marquette followed up on Monday night in their Home opener with a 3-2 win over DaytonKelmend Islami (Sr) was the star man for the night picking up a goal and assist. Alex McBride (So) started and Driton Zyteja (So) made his first appearance of the season playing 45 minutes in the contest.

 

 

 

  • Wisconsin fought hard out on the West Coast against tough opposition losing at Santa Clara 2-1 in Over-Time on Friday night and then suffering a 3-2 loss to UC Davis on Sunday.  Alex Masbruch (So) started both games for the Badgers and Niko Atlija (So) made his first appearance of the season coming off the bench against UC Davis recording one shot on goal.

 

 

  • Freshman Buran Huseini and Senior Cheenuj Shong helped stretch UW-Green Bay’s unbeaten run to two games with a 1-1 tie at home to Western Illinois. Huseini started and played the entire 110 minutes recording two shots on goal and Shong made an impact from the bench recording his first assist of the season.

 

  • Freshman Ryan Machonga started both games over the weekend for IUPUI in their close fought losses to both Butler 3-2 in Over-Time and Western Michigan 1-0. As a Freshman Machonga has been an ever present so far this season for the Jaguars.

 

  • #14 St Louis University continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 win over Memphis. Sophomore Max Karcher started at Center Back and helped the Billikens earn the second successive shutout. Freshman Brady Leniusalso made his Collegiate debut coming on as a substitute In the 2nd half.

 

 

  • Sophomore Goalkeeper Alex Cagle helped Temple University improve to 2-0-1 and remain unbeaten for the season.Temple defeated Penn State 2-0 with Cagle recording his 2nd shutout of the season.

 

  • Logan Ketterer recorded his third straight shutout helping Bradley record a 1-0 win over Milwaukee. Ketterer has now gone over 314 minutes without conceding a goal and it is the first time in the Program’s 29-year history that the Braves have won three consecutive games 1-0 in a season.

 

  • Logan Andryk (Sr) has helped MSOE start the season off well going 2-1 over the first week of games. Andryk has already scored 3 goals and added 1 assist following on from his Junior year where he was a NSCAA First Team All-American.Brother, Braden Andryk (So) an NSCAA All-Region selection his Freshman year has also chipped in with 2 goals and 1 assist.

 

  • UW-Whitewater has had a great start to the season going 4-0 in their opening games. The Warhawks recorded a big 2-1 win over MSOE in Over-Time. FC Alums, Ivan Khemenka (Fr), and Adrian Castillo (So) have played a part in all of the games so far with Castillo adding one goal to his name.

 

  • Freshman Trevor Nargis has started the opening 3 games for Concordia UniversityNargis has helped the Falcons start the season with a 2-1 record.

 

  • UW-Parkside have had a tough start to the season losing to top ranked opponents Upper Iowa University 3-1 and #18 Saginaw Valley 4-1. FC Alums Ryan Shogren (Sr), Evan Garcia (So), Petar Krecak (Fr), and Israel Betancourt (So) have all found time in both games.

 

  • Sophomore Javier Simon coming off a Freshman campaign that saw him earn First Team All-Conference Honors has started all 3 games as UW-Oshkosh have started the season with a 1-1-1 record.

 

  • Sophomores Bernie Macias and Bobby Saskowski have started the opening two matches as Cardinal Stritch University have started the season going 1-1. Macias starting in goal and Saskowski at Center Back helped post a shutout in the Wolves opening game 2-0 Viterbo University.
