FC Wisconsin adds experienced college and club coach to direct the North Program

FC Wisconsin is thrilled to announce the appointment of Director of Coaching to Marc Baumbach for its North Program.

“We are so excited to have Marc leading the North program, and taking it to new developmental heights.  Marc has assisted with practices on our main campus and knows the environment, culture, and intensity we are striving for in all our FC Players.  There is no one better to implement the long term player development curriculum of FC Wisconsin, and the commitment to helping players reach their long term goals.  This is a hugely exciting time for our North Program!”  Said Co-DOC Billy Solberg.

Baumbach has coached both collegiately and at the club level with each stop improving every program.  Baumbach started his collegiate coaching experience at Luther College coaching both the men and the women taking teams to Regional Semi-finals and NCAA quarterfinals.  He also won a conference title on the women’s side while at Luther.

Baumbach’s next collegiate challenge was presented at Buena Vista University.  Here his teams improved their goals per game and goals against average immediately upon his arrival.  Baumbach would leave Buena Vista for an opportunity at University of Wisconsin Green Bay, but not before leaving the Beavers with the second highest number of games won in school history.

Baumbach spent two seasons as University of Wisconsin Green Bay helping to develop Horizon League players of the week and All Conference honors.

Baumbach has also spent time at the club level coaching at St Croix Soccer Club taking teams to first place finishing in the Midwest Regional League.  He has also spent time with Green Bay Lightning in building their club and their teams both on the boys and girls side.

“Having been offered multiple opportunities within the state and outside of the state, I chose to work with FC Wisconsin over all other opportunities because I truly believe in their philosophy, their curriculum, their style of play and how they develop players.  This is something I wanted to not only be a part of, but continue to help build.  I wanted to make sure what we offer in the North Program mirrors the FCW main campus.  By doing that, we will offer kids in the North a program, curriculum of long term development and coaching that this area is hungry for” said Baumbach on his excitement for the future of the program.

“We set out to really better the long term player development of kids in the area.  We know we have the best product, with the best coaches to implement this and offer players a unique fulfilling club to play for.  Marc is the perfect person to help the boys and girls in this area and will lead this program in making sure the experience is like no other.”

“Bottom line we feel we not only have the perfect person to positively impact the boys and girls in the area but we have a hired a genuinely great person. – echoed Co-Doc’s Shepherd and Solberg
